Lusine Avetyan, head of Karahunj village, said during a conversation with Armenian News-NEWS.am,¨ even as we speak, the Azerbaijanis are a couple of meters away from Karahunj village, even a part of the gardens are being transferred to them, and I don’t understand how this village was left out of the social support program for borderline communities¨.
Today, Deputy Mayor of Goris Irina Yolyan posted on her Facebook page that the Khndzoresk and Karahunj villages have been left out of the social support program for borderline communities.
This is unacceptable. I’m surprised that Karahunj village was left out. I think this is a misunderstanding. It’s impossible because the interstate road passes through Karahunj. The border guards are currently standing in Karahunj. If this isn’t a misunderstanding, we will resort to strict measures and will shut down the main road passing through the village,” Avetyan said, adding that even though the situation is relatively peaceful now, she won’t be able to guarantee the villagers’ safety later.
